Happy New year once again lovelies!!! The feeling this year has been giving me is so pleasant and different. This year is sure to bring good vibes. I am going to be sharing some of the things I left behind in 2017 to be a better person in 2018. This is not a ‘New year New me’ post but a post of me acknowledging my flaws and working on them intentionally.
This is something I do on a low. I shift things I am meant to do at the moment to a later date I feel will be more convenient. This has affected things in my life and pushed some things back. I am done with this in 2018.
2. FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN
I am most times scared; scared of the future, change, uncertainties and the list goes on. I most times try to cover it up with my ChlorMelSan temperament and optimistic nature. I am gradually learning to DO IT AFRAID, and 2018 is the year I begin.
3. NOT FACING MY FEARS
I am Atychiphobic. The fear of not failing makes me rather not do what I am supposed to do, thus making me less productive and underutilizing my abilities. I would rather stick to a more comfortable option than actually doing something challenging to bring out the best in me. I am ready to face my fears this year. Here is a post published by a fellow blogger about Facing your fears in 2018.
4. NOT LIVING FOR THE MOMENT
I worry a lot about the ‘what-ifs’ instead of living each day with gratitude and intent. I left this behind in 2017 and I have resulted to live for the moment and enjoy every minute of my life. Take more trips to other states in the US and create memories.
5. NOT STAYING IN MY LANE
Comparison with others almost made me lose it late last year. I have resolved to stay in my lane and focus on my FOCUS. I have learnt to acknowledge and congratulate people on their achievements and move on by working on my own grass instead of wasting time comparing and over thinking.
These are the things I left behind in 2017 and you should too if you do any of these things. I decided to share this, so someone can relate to this and know you are not alone in this daily struggles but acknowledging them and working on them makes you BETTER. 2018 is the year to be BETTER and grow.
Cheers to a better you and me in 2018.
